Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- ETRM System Support: Provide in-house support to users for ETRM applications (pricing, exposure, PnL, VaR, invoicing, etc.), including troubleshooting issues, managing incidents, and ensuring the timely resolution of system-related problems.
- User Assistance: Act as the primary point of contact for trade floor end-users, addressing their technical queries and ensuring smooth operation of ETRM systems.
- Incident Management: Track, prioritize, and resolve incidents, coordinating with the ETRM development team as necessary to resolve complex issues.
- System Monitoring: Monitor the performance, availability, and integrity of ETRM systems, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact operations.
- System Configuration: Assist in configuring and customizing ETRM systems to meet business requirements, ensuring that changes are tested and deployed smoothly.
- Issue Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of support activities, including incident reports, system configurations, and change management records.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve system performance, stability, and user experience, and work with development teams to implement enhancements.
- Training and Knowledge Sharing: Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring they are proficient in using the ETRM system and are aware of any new features or changes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with traders, the quantitative team, risk management, compliance, the back office, and IT teams to understand business needs and ensure that ETRM systems effectively support those needs.
- System Upgrades: Assist with the planning, testing, and deployment of system upgrades, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure and processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience supporting IT software applications in the commodities energy trading industry, preferably supporting ETRM systems such as OpenLink, Endur, Allegro, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of the energy trading lifecycle, including front, middle, and back-office processes.
- Proficiency in SQL, scripting, and other relevant programming languages used in ETRM system support.
- Experience with system monitoring tools and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in a timely manner.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Employees work 5 days a week in the Houston office.
