PJM Transmission Snr Analyst

Our client, an independent power producer (IPP) is searching for a PJM FTR Transmission Engineer to join its FTR/CRR team (trades across all the US ISO markets). The Transmission Engineer will be responsible for research and key analytics in support of the PJM FTR trading portfolio. Key responsibilities include running production cost models, transmission and congestion research, price forecasting, and identifying strategies for the PJM FTR auctions. The position will take a quantitative approach to building the models and trading tools and will use both data mining and fundamental analysis techniques. The focus of this position is hedging their generation but the Transmission Engineer will also get involved with managing a trade book and an analytical support for the commercial physical and financial power trading teams.
Professional and educational qualifications include a Masters or PhD in electrical engineering (power systems focus) with 3-7 years of related PJM transmission experience; experience at a utility, IPP, power trading firm, power research firm or ISO as a transmission planning engineer or a congestion analyst with an expertise in the market rules of PJM; strong modeling and programming skills; and power flow analysis skills using UPLAN, PowerWorld, Dayzer, PROMOD or PSSE, etc.
